Orange Cup Corals
Tubastraea sp.

Many corals feed at night. These cup corals collapse into a hard "button" during the day; at night they extend their tentacles to capture floating plankton.

Bonaire, Dutch Antilles

Sea Facts:

Although they occupy less than 0.25 percent of the marine environment, coral reefs support more than a quarter of all known fish species.
