Blue-spotted Ray

A Blue-spotted ray glides over a sandy bottom of the Red Sea, its body covered with iridescent blue spots.

Sea Facts:

Conspicuous displays, such as iridescent spots, often indicate a warning to potential predators. In this case, the Blue-spotted ray can inflict a painful wound with the venomous barb on its tail.
