"Resting In The Water:  Bottling"

Two harbor seals rest peacefully in the water, their faces barely above the surface.

Fort Bragg, California

Seal Facts:

When harbor seals are not feeding, there is a good chance they are at rest. Harbor seals spend most of their time resting on shores and rocky outcroppings. They rest (and even sleep) in the water as well. This relaxed position, with only their heads above the water, is called "bottling."
