Care & Maintenance:  (continued)

Double-check all connections and cover plates before beginning dive. In some housings, like the clear Ikelite ones, you can actually see if the o-ring is "flattened" when you clamp the back shut --look for a "stripe" of uniform width. This tells you that it is sealed properly

Always carry a small toolkit with you that has essential supplies like silicon grease, small screwdrivers, q-tips (for cleaning out the o-ring channels), etc.

Remove any batteries before you put your equipment in storage

Never lend out your equipment. Nobody will care for it like you do

Test all equipment thoroughly in a controlled situation first, like in a swimming pool

If you think this advice is nonsense, buy camera insurance!
