Grey Angefish
Pomacanthus arcuatus

A Gray Angelfish makes a new home on the freighter Prince Albert that was deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef.

Both the French Angelfish and the Gray Angelfish share a common trait as juveniles: they are born dark brown or black with vivid vertical yellow stripes.

Roatan, Honduras

Sea Facts:

Artificial reefs have met with great success in many parts of the world. In order to counter growing coral destruction, man-made objects are placed on the seafloor to create a solid substrate for colonizing organisms like corals and sponges. Often larger animals will appear soon after the reef is in place. Barracuda have been known to patrol artificial reefs within a day.
