"Golden Bliss"

A look of sheer bliss crosses the face of this harbor seal, as it rests on the rocks, its golden fur lit by early morning light.

Fort Bragg, California

 
Seal Facts:

Harbor seals along the Pacific coast usually give birth between February and July. The well-developed pup may measure up to 26 pounds. One or two young are born after a gestation period of a little over 7 months.
